Bernie Sanders bids adieu to presidency – what does this mean for Trump?

Yesterday, Bernie Sanders suspended his presidential campaign, leaving Joe Biden the clear Democratic candidate.

Bernie Sanders appeared to be a real contender until recently, when Biden began to catch up – while I suspect he’d do decently in the British Labour Party, he’s just too radical for the average commie-hating American. It’s a shame, because his plans for universal healthcare and the environment were revolutionary.

With Biden the obvious candidate now, I think the election’s outcome is forgone – Trump will win another term, I’m sure of it. Biden is not a strong character, who had a pitiful start to his campaign and hasn’t really improved. He’s not the nicest of characters either. If the Americans voted for Trump over Hillary Clinton, they’ll definitely vote Trump over Biden.

An impeached president has never won a second time, so this marks a first for American Politics, and it’s enraging. Trump is clearly guilty; the partisan voting lines inside the Senate are embarrassing to an alleged bastion of democracy.

I’m really, really hoping for a Biden win. I dislike Biden; but I dislike Trump more. As I say, I think the chances of his victory are very low, but one can hope.

The thought of Trump until 2025 is not a happy one, but it looks like the reality we are going to face.
